Proud Birds

 5x7 inch oil on panel

4x4 wrap around
Both available in my Etsy Shop.
SOLD

I think the peacock is one of the most beautiful birds. I can remember collecting feathers at my uncles home, so we had a vase full of them in our house. I find when painting birds there is a very fine line between too many details and not enough. Tried to keep the top painting from having too many details in the feathers, and kept scraping off and changing.

Wonderful Carol, I think that you have the perfect balance and just enough detail. The background is so nice in the top oil painting.

Peacocks are definitely beautiful, and you painted this one perfectly with just the right amount of details. Well done.

Beautifully painted. I love the poses and colors in both. Just the right amount of detail, too!

Thanks friends for your reassurance in the detail. I am never sure when to stop on a painting. If I move on to another painting I will usually leave it alone.
