Barnyard King

4x6 inch
Oil on linen canvas
SOLD

I believe this is a Barred Plymouth Rock breed of chicken. What a beautiful little bird! Would love to have my own chickens in my backyard, but not so sure the neighbors would appreciate their new alarm clock. To the right is a cute little chicken coop I pinned on Pinterest— Available at Seattle farm supply (click on photo for link). I wonder if they would ship to Tennessee. :) Click on the Pinterest link to the right to follow me, it is such fun to discover new treasures every day!

Tidbit of Info—The Plymouth Rock was developed in New England in the middle of the 19th century and was first exhibited as a breed in 1869.

Beautifully painted, Carol!! Reminds me of my chicken I had 15 years ago. His name was checkers and looked just like this one! He was always on my neighbors clothesline! Ooops! He died of old age..I THINK!

Hilda, thank you so! I love the name of your chicken. Great story about the clothesline. I can picture a chicken trying to walk across. Would be a great painting. Do you have any pictures?
