Wilt Farm Plein Air Study

5x7 inch
oil on board

I was so excited to paint outside last Friday with my Chestnut friends. We painted at this beautiful farm with a 70 acre lake. It started as a rainy day, but the sun soon came out from behind the clouds. The hardest part for me was getting to the area to paint. The lake bank of the lake was a little wider than the width of the car and it was a drop down from there. I have a severe phobia of edges, so I just had to look straight ahead and think about being at the end. The Chestnut Group will have a show for the Duck River Conservatory in May, so I will be choosing my best plein air paintings for the show.

Thanks, ladies! Love the bright green trees are as the leaves are just coming out. It was so much more noticeable since I was mixing the colors to paint them.
