"Blowing Bubbles"

I took a photo of these elephants at the St. Louis zoo. It was so adorable watching the baby blow bubbles while the mom watched over him. I might have left too much of the underpainting showing, but I kind of liked the different feeling it was giving it.

I love the look on the baby!s face, and how he is doing what all babies do - playing, So universally baby-like. - the underpainting showing through gives it a lovely harmony.

I like the underpainting showing through. You did a great job with all these neutral colors.

Catherine, we stood there watching that baby forever. So adorable!! At first we were wondering if it was okay, but then we saw the bubbles. Thanks for your sweet comment!

Carol, thanks! I keep looking at it wondering if looks finished, but sometimes I have to walk away and move on. I might paint again with watercolors someday. I love this sweet moment.

I also love the under painting showing through, just the right amount in the right places. Well done!
