"Baa Baa Black Sheep"

I have been reading and studying landscapes more lately. I love being outside and enjoying God's creation and all of it's beautiful colors and detail. Studying all the colors that makeup what is around me, and not just seeing and painting objects—but really thinking about their color and compliments and how they relate to one another. This painting was painted while studying artist Miquel Ferron's work.

"Brothers in the Sun #2"

This was painted from a photo taken in Cape Cod last summer. I will  probably touch up some more, but I wanted to post something else today since I have not posted much lately. I hope to continue the series of brothers in the sun.

"Brothers in the Sun"

Watercolor painted last year of my boys.  I would like to do a series of them together, but they are at the age they are not in one place long enough together. Vacations seem to be the best place for photo opportunities. This vacation was in the Great Smoky Mountains of Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

"Longing for Ogunquit"

I have been working on this one for awhile off and on. I still might work on depth in the water some.We spent our summer vacation in Maine last year—so beautiful. I am so jealous of those who live and paint there everyday. This was painted from a photo I took in Oguncuit. I may paint some more from this wonderful vacation town.

"The Dogana copy after John SInger Sargent"

This was painted last year studying John Singer Sargent's watercolor paintings. I don't believe I was finished with it— I would like to go back and add some depth in the water, but I like the looseness of it. Sargent is my all time favorite artist. Who is yours? I would love to hear who inspires you.

"Dancing Flowers"

I have not been able to post anything lately and I feel like I have failed to turn in my homework. My homework has been painting walls lately — I am so wanting to get back to the drawing board.I have not even been able to make the time to post the sunshine award artist, Pat Koscienski gave to me. This was a watercolor I painted a couple of years ago while taking a class led by watercolor artist and instructor, Gail McDaniel. Be sure and check out Pat's and Gail's beautiful work.
